My mother passed away after a year-long battle with brain cancer in Feb 2015, so Other People from writer/director Chris Kelly hits home with me all the way down to the laxatives, beautiful revelations, family/sibling drama, and crying/breaking down in public. Sometimes it's refreshing to see real life captured on the screen; it's based on director/writer Chris Kelly's experience with his mother's illness and death in 2009. This movie is the story of our generation and generations to come. And you can now watch it on Netflix (Canada).

Finally, Zelda Fitzgerald gets the attention she deserves when it comes her and F. Scott Fitzgerald's story.
I Heart: The Tale of Thomas Burberry
I totally just got sucked into this Burberry Ad over on Youtube cause it contains three of my fav things history, fashion & design. It's also a pretty mesmerizing Ad that happens to be masquerading as a film trailer. If it was actually a movie I'd go see it.

Artsy Fartsy: Toronto's Flag
One of my fav episodes of 99% Invisible is about Flag Design and well according to this episode Toronto has a great flag. I would have to agree; It's a damn good looking flag. The fact that Toronto's has a well-designed flag makes me a proud Torontonian. Check out both Toronto's flag and 99% Invisibles Flag episode below.
Bonne Fête Coco Chanel!
Happy Birthday, Coco Chanel. Your innovative thinking help changed the fashion word for the better. It did away with corsets and pageantry and brought in clothing that allowed women to take an active part in the world they live.
I love these Inside Chanel Series that Channel produced a few years ago. The one below is one of my faves, you can see the rest of the series HERE.
Design I Admire: Stranger Things
I can't get enough of the Stranger Things opening sequence. It fills me full of 1980's nostalgia. I love this video on how Stranger Things got it's retro opening credits. It must have been a fun project to work on.
iDesigned: Branding
Just some branding I've done over the past few years.

Preach it Cyndi, life is to short to care about the haters.
Toronto Is Home
Just a few pictures I took this weekend @ Union Station as I was on the way to visit family in the burbs. I really do feel lucky to live in such an amazing city. Love ya Toronto, I can't wait to continue to watch you grow ❤️.
Mother's Day 2016
Mother's Day sort of snuck up on me this year and I really didn't get around to doing a design project to celebrate my mom this year.
This Mother's Day seems a little easier than last years but I still miss and think of my mom every day. I thought I'd celebrate my mom today by posting a picture of her and her mom, who she lost when she was a few years younger than me.
As much as today is an important day it's always good to remember that today is a hard and complicated day for lots of people for many, many different reasons.
On that note, I still want to wish all the Mom's out there (including fur baby Mom's!), A Happy Mother's Day.
Happy St Paddy's Day!

Inspiration: Sonia Delaunay
Since discovering 1920's Parisian artist and textile designer Sonia Delauany a few years ago, I've been obsessed with learning about all things Sonia. Today I discovered these video gems (featured below) from the 1920's featuring her clothing and fabrics. If you too are interested in learning more about her I personally suggest the book Colour Moves: Art & Fashion by Sonia Delaunay by Susan Brown.
